The Sustainability Advisory Forum does not make investment decisions, but instead debates and informs the development of sustainable and responsible investment policies. It also assists the Altius investment team in making judgements that define the market portfolio for the Funds.
Bill Bovingdon
Chair, Co-founder of Altius Asset Management
Bill has over 35 years of experience and is highly regarded in fixed interest asset management.
Prior to co-founding Altius in 2011, Bill was with Aberdeen Asset Management, where he was head of Australian fixed income and the chief executive officer. He has also worked as head of fixed income for Schroder Investment Management and Deutsche Asset Management.
In his many investment roles, Bill has built successful fixed income businesses by developing proven investment processes and assembling strong investment teams.
Bill’s career in investment and financial services began in 1984 with the Treasury Corporation of Victoria as a fixed income portfolio manager. He has a long working relationship with both Chris Dickman and Gavin Goodhand, formed over many years.
Bill holds a Bachelor of Economics from Monash University.

Matthew Moore
Committee Observer
Matt Moore is General Manager, Ethinvest. Prior to Ethinvest Matthew was Head of Responsible Investment and Stewardship at Australian Unity.
Matt was also Head of Ethical Investments at Uniting Financial Services where he had oversight of over $1.7 billion in assets under management and was responsible for building and managing that organisation’s responsible investment program across multiple asset classes and investment mandates, as well as its corporate sustainability strategy.
In this role, he was responsible for the alignment of the 14 Ethical & ESG Investment Principles to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and establishing an ethical scoring methodology for all asset class exposures. Matthew was also part of the team that issued the first SDG bond in the capital markets by a not-for-profit in Australia and launched the Ethical Diversified Fund (EDF).
Prior to his tenure at Uniting Financial Services, Matthew held senior roles in Australia’s banking and financial services sector. He has been a long-standing member of the Altius Asset Management Sustainability Advisory Committee and is currently chair.
Mathew’s other notable appointments include director of the Responsible Investment Association of Australasia and director of the Uniting Church Superannuation Fund.
Richard Lovell
Executive Director, Investments, Clean Energy Finance Corporation
Richard has over 23 years of experience in the investment industry, and is currently executive director, investments at Clean Energy Finance Corporation.
He was previously executive director at Westpac, head of global financing operations at Societe Generale and a senior manager at Perpetual Limited.
Ivan Colhoun
Ivan has over 38 years of experience across the Banking and Financial Services sector, most recently as the Consulting Chief Economist at Creditor Watch.
He was also the Chief Economist at National Bank of Australia, ANZ Banking Group, Qantas and Deutsche Bank. He has also held senior Economist positions at Virgin Australia and Reserve Bank of Australia.
Ivan holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from University of Tasmania.
Anthony Michaels
Anthony has over 38 years of experience across the Investment Management and Financial Services sector, most recently as the Chief Investment Officer of Allianz Australia. He was also previously a Director and Head of Asia Pacific Fixed Income with Aberdeen Asset Management Asia based in Singapore, and a Principal Consultant with Frontier Advisors.
He has also held senior investment positions at Aberdeen Asset Management, Deutsche Asset Management and Zurich Scudder Investments.
Anthony holds Bachelor’s and Masters Degrees in Economics from Macquarie University, a Masters of Applied Finance from UNSW, a Graduate Diploma in Securities Studies and is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
