Australian Ethical statement: Super Industry Cyber Security

Australian Ethical is unaffected in the recent cyber-attack of super funds
Published 4 Apr 2025   |   1 min read

You may have seen press regarding a cyber attack on many superfunds. Our analysis so far shows that Australian Ethical is unaffected.

While the reported attacks appear to involve the reuse of passwords exposed in earlier data breaches, we are not being complacent.

  • We have multi factor authentication for all members, and internal controls to protect members in these circumstances.
  • We have had heightened monitoring in place since being informed of a potential issue with other funds earlier in the week.

However, we encourage you to ensure your password is unique. Other actions you can take to protect your account are:

  • Be viligant on any changes to your account, unusual emails/SMS , or authentication codes that you didn't request.
  • If you unexpectedly receive such a code then please contact us immediately on 1800 021 227.
  • Never give your authentication code to anyone - we will never ask you for an authentication code.

Australian Ethical offices are located on the lands of the Gadigal and Wurundjeri People.
Australian Ethical acknowledges the Traditional Owners of the countries on which we work, and recognise and celebrate their continuing connection to land, waters and culture. We pay our respects to Elders past and present and thank them for protecting Country since time immemorial.
